Olga Brown. Statement.

My paintings portray everyday life: people and relationships, joy, drama, emotions and feelings. They are also about London with its many changing ways.

London is like a theatre for me and I am lucky to be one of its inhabitants. This city often stops me in amazement: Sloane Square lit with Christmas illuminations, the Thames before a storm, cozy little pubs with their jabbering crowds -there are so many stories to tell.

Light in all its varieties- manmade and natural, often makes familiar places look very different almost mysterious.

London offers so much to an artist: its great architecture, its people rushing about their daily chores, situations that might be peaceful or highly charged: whatever the subject, Art has the magic to capture those moments.

Olga Brown. CV

Olga is a London based British artist. She was born in the Ukraine, where she studied art and textiles at the Academy of Fine Art in Lviv (1978-1982).

London Cityscapes are her favourite subjects. Olga creates situations where the viewer is gradually drawn into the scene then suddenly becomes part of it.

Her choice of location and view points are very unusual, conveying the atmosphere and mood of the scene.

Olga's works are very popular with collectors. She has exhibited successfully since 1982 taking part in exhibitions in the UK, Canada and Eastern Europe.
